Description
The Traxxas 5881 is a pair of assembled, pre-glued tire and wheel units for the 2WD front position, combining SCT satin chrome wheels with a black beadlock-style ring, licensed Kumho tires and foam inserts.
Fitment matters here. On a 2WD Slash the front wheels are narrower than the rears, because the front axle carries no drive load and the narrower track sharpens steering response. This is the front-only part; the wider rear and 4X4 equivalent is 5880.
The Kumho tread is a scale reproduction of the full-size Kumho light-truck pattern, with closely spaced blocks that put more rubber on the ground than an open mud-terrain lug. As a steering tire, that translates to consistent front grip on packed dirt, groomed clay and hard surfaces.
The beadlock ring is molded styling rather than functional hardware. These arrive glued with inserts fitted and mount straight to the hex.
