Description
The Traxxas 5873R is a pair of assembled, pre-glued tire and wheel units built for racing: SCT satin chrome wheels with a red beadlock-style ring, ultra-soft S1 compound off-road racing tires, and foam inserts, all mounted and glued at the factory.
The S1 compound is the softest Traxxas offers. It conforms to surface texture more readily than the standard rubber, delivering a clear step up in mechanical grip on clay, loam and medium-bite tracks. The trade-off is tread life, which drops sharply on abrasive surfaces, so most racers reserve S1 sets for qualifying and mains and practice on harder rubber.
The wheels use short course dual-profile sizing, 2.2 inches at the outer bead and 3.0 inches inside. The beadlock ring is a molded styling detail, not functional hardware.
Fitment is 2WD rear or 4WD front and rear. These arrive glued with inserts fitted and mount straight to the hex, making them a genuine race-day drop-on rather than a project.
