This Axial 32P Portal Gears set includes a heavy-duty 12-tooth and 29-tooth gear pair for the AXP8 Gilamon 2.2's AF16P portal axles, giving an 11.5% underdrive ratio compared to stock. Underdriving the rear axle relative to the front slows wheel speed there, which improves climbing power and tightens the turning radius on technical rock crawling terrain.
Because it's a genuine Axial part engineered specifically for the AF16P portal axle's 32-pitch gear system, it's a direct-fit replacement for the stock portal gears using the same axle housing and bearing setup, with no other modifications required. It's a common upgrade for drivers looking to fine-tune their Gilamon's front-to-rear gearing balance for specific trail conditions.
This is a functional performance upgrade rather than a cosmetic part, best suited for the rear axle to improve climbing and turning capability. One 12/29T gear set is included per package.
